Our Goals

In Australia, there is a movement to bring the twin mag injected nitro cars into Pro Alcohol or Top Alcohol, there are reasons our direction is different and we think more self-sustaining. 

It needs to be said that our single mag injected nitro combinations are not the same as the twin mag injected nitro cars used in Pro Alcohol or Top Alcohol. There is are great reasons for this. 

Costs and Work. How much work do you want to do and how much money do you want to spend?

The cost of campaigning a twin mag injected nitro car is a lot more money and work because with twin mags you make a lot more power. With twin mags, you can burn more fuel and because of that, the hardware combination is different. These twin mag cars use a high gear combination and a much taller rear diff ratio as well. It is only the restrictions put on the twin mag injected nitro cars that slow them down to try to keep parity with the supercharged methanol cars they have to race against. There have been many conversations about how quick the twin mag injected nitro cars could go if they were, “let off the leash”, so to speak. Many of the twin mag injected nitro “Top Alcohol” cars in the USA run deep into the bottom of the 5’s. The conversations have been that there would be no problem getting the twin mag injected nitro cars into the top of the 4’s in a quarter mile race if they were not so restricted. Even with the current restrictions to slow the twin mag cars down, the clutch is a consumable item for every round. Not an adjustment, a replacement. That is money and work that we as a single mag injected nitro racer does not want to entertain. 

The single mag injected nitro cars have a great potential that has yet to be realized but because of the restriction to a single mag, it is a consensus that you do need at least a two speed transmission to make them work well. This fact alone means you adjust the clutch between rounds, not replace it. 

This means you can have smaller teams, need fewer people, and overall everything just costs less to race.
